According to the Union Health Ministry, during this period Kerala has registered the highest number of infected patients on record, which includes a total of 423 cases. Of these, 266 are from Kerala, while 70 are from the neighboring state of Karnataka. During this period, two people have also died due to corona infection in Kerala.

According to the Union Health Ministry –
the total number of active cases of Covid-19 in the country is 3420. Despite this, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, former Chief Scientist of the World Health Organization (WHO), said that there is no need to panic at the moment. But people need to be alert and take precautionary measures.
The WHO said the number of new Covid cases has increased by 52 per cent over the past four weeks, with more than 850,000 new cases. The WHO has said that since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, as of December 17, more than 772 million people have been infected globally and nearly 7 million have died.
